Gatehouse Country Market

Held weekly on Saturday mornings, 9am-12noon

A small but popular weekly market with around 6 regular stalls providing a selection of locally produced foods in an easily accessible venue in the main car park in the town.

Regular stall holders include a traditional family butcher; artisan baker producing breads, cakes, savoury flans and quiches; smoked meats and cheeses; fruit and veg; jams and jellies and artisan cheeses.

What to see and do:

Nestled in the middle of a National Scenic Area, Gatehouse of Fleet is a beautiful place to visit, with its historic Mill on the Fleet visitor centre, a former cotton spinning mill, a focal point of the town. As well as the weekly market, Gatehouse of Fleet is also home to one of Dumfries & Galloway's best known food producers, Galloway Lodge Preserves, who serve up lashings of delicious jams and preserves each day in their welcoming cafe.
