Kirkcudbright Artists' Town & Food Festival

A thriving programme of community events and festivals, many of which have food & drink at their heart.

There can be few towns in Scotland with such an active and enthusiastic community run programme of events and festivals. Kirkcudbright starts celebrating in the spring with a superb plant fair and pretty much doesn't stop the festivities until late October's Food Festival, while galleries and museums in the town host exhibitions and artistic events throughout the year.

Since the introduction of the monthly Farmers' Market in 2014 Kirkcudbright, local food and drink has become an increasingly important aspect of community events. Events and festivals with notable food and drink elements include June's Jazz Festival with its popular dining events, Kirkcudbright Country Fair in mid-July, Kirkcudbright parade day and BBQ in late July and Kirkcudbright's Food Festival in late October, which, as a chef-led festival, is an inspirational celebration of fine cuisine.
