Kirkcudbright Farmers' & Producers Market

Held on the 4th Sunday of each month (Mar-Dec) 11am-3pm

A large market with a good variety of locally produced food, drink and crafts held in historic Kirkcudbright Artists Town.

The market is located in an inside venue during the cooler months and moves to the centre of the town, in the summer months.

Between 20-30 stalls take part each month with products including bread, meats, gluten free products, cakes, jams and preserves, smoked goods, cheeses, baked goods, honey, desserts, wines, real ales, confectionary, charcuterie, spices and locally produced crafts.

A pop up cafe is available at most markets.

What to see and do:

Pretty as a picture, Kirkcudbright's reputation as an Artists' Town at times eclipses the town's equally impressive heritage as place of exceptional quality food - from sensational shellfish landed in the easily accessible harbour to fine food manufacture at Castle MacLellan foods to warm hospitality and great quality food at the town's many cafes, restaurants, hotels and indeed fish & chip shops!

  • Watch fish being landed and try one of the famous Kirkcudbright Scallops at the Selkirk Arms Hotel
  • Add Castle MacLellan Pate to your picnic, Chicken Liver Pate with Dumfries & Galloway Heather Honey is particularly good!
  • Take part in one of Kirkcudbright's vibrant events and festivals, including the delicious Kirkcudbright Food Festival in October
