What to see and do:

Moffat, a historic and picturesque former spa town, just a mile from the M74, is a must stop; its wide main street filled with superb independent shops including traditional butchers, bakers and welcoming independent cafes and hotels. The dramatic hills surrounding Moffat are famous for the quality of the sheep that graze there, indeed the stunning Moffat Ram statue in the centre of the town celebrates the importance of the wool trade to the town. More recently Moffat is becoming associated with the quirky Moffat Sheep Races that take place each August, an event that coincides with the delicious Moffat Farmers' Market, making this a superb family day out!
